how to draw pants

The key guide lines are:

  • the upper two corners of the regular pentagon is the smallest part of the waist.  Draw the pants waist line a bit below that.
  • The length of line bisecting the pentagon (d in the sketch above) is the the SAME as the distance from crotch to knee, and SAME as the distance from from knee to ankle.
  • The middle points of the pentagon define the widest parts of the hips.  (For the front view)  The inner point of the the right middle pentagon point(left hip)lines up with the INNER point of the left knee, which lines up with the inner point of the left ankle  VERTICALLY straight.
  • The crotch point(lower pentagon vertice) lines up with inner right knee point and ankle.

Use these rules  to maintain proportionality.
